In 2018, we commissioned an independent workers' survey thanks to the expertise of the Social & Economic Survey Research Institute (SESRI) from Qatar University.
The survey provides workers with a platform to share their feedback on key matters impacting their lives in Qatar and on our projects. The questions cover:
- Recruitment and contracts
- Duties and work environment
- Remittance and pay
- Accommodation
- Life in Qatar
- Wellbeing and healthcare
- Leisure and social capital
These surveys are important to gain insights into what affects our workers, which helps us tailor our programmes to better suit their needs.
Four cycles of the survey have been completed, with the most recent in 2022 covering a randomised sample of over 2,000 workers across all SC project sites. The results showed a positive sentiment among the workforce, with 99% of workers expressing satisfaction working on our projects.
