Nakheel Landscapes and Taleb Group will go head-to-head this Friday night to be crowned champions of the seventh edition of the Workers' Cup.

The match, which will kick off at 7:15 PM and is open to the public, will see Nakheel attempt to become the first team to win the trophy three years in a row.

Speaking ahead of the game, Sami Salah Udden, Nakheel's team coach, discussed his side's chances.

He said: "The players are very excited to play – for some of the guys this will be their first final. We know it will be a tough game and we're aware that Taleb will want to get their hands back on the trophy."

Udden continued: "We're expecting over 4,000 people in the stadium to support us, which just goes to show how important this tournament is for everyone at Nakheel. It means so much to Nakheel's management, which demonstrates the company's commitment to its workers both on and off the pitch."

Talking about regaining the title, Gamal Gad, team coach at Taleb Group, said: "We've come here to win, and we'll be challenging for the cup all the way.

"This tournament plays a huge role in promoting football and football participation in Qatar. We're delighted that we can play a part in helping to achieve the country's vision to become a sports hub in the region."

The Workers' Cup is organised by the Qatar Stars League and sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. The tournament supports the two organisations' commitment to use football as a tool to accelerate social and human development.

The 2019 Workers' Cup final between Nakheel Landscapes and Taleb Group will take place at Al Sadd Sports Club on Friday 25 January, kick-off 7:15 PM.
